You won't like Ricoh's next marketing 'innovation'.
Any type of marketing innovation would be welcome from Ricoh. If its actually innovative.

You mean the first Pentax with food JPEG quality relative to the competition.

Perhaps you should have said "innovation on the ILC market"; my belief is that the new EOS-M5 is a small step taken by Canon in case the lower tier ILC market tips radically in the direction of MILC
I think the lower tier market has already tipped to MILC in some countries. The technology of MILC almost to the point of surpassing DSLRs in some ways. The DSLR manufacturers have to innovate.

It seems that way. If DSLR manufacturers can find a way to improve AF accuracy and provide some of the intelligent AF features of mirrorless into the DSLR body, then I think they have a chance. DSLRs have their own set of advantages. My A7II with a grip and the 90mm Macro is just as big or bigger than my K-1 with a grip and 85mm Sigma. With premium FF glass there is no size advantage.

And people miss the point when they talk about size. If Pentax would make a K-07 {EVF-equipped MILC variant of K-70}, I would buy it in fairly short order. Often I find myself using my K-30 in LV mode - a K-07 would provide better than that, between CDAF and better view of darkish scenes. In fact, the K-70's high ISO capabilities are hobbled by its lack of EVF.

Well, it's a matter of definition. Technically these Sony's are no dslr.
I dont care much but if we compare things, we need to know what we compare to what.

I have no hesitation, in my mind and in my business direction, that in the future—whether it’s three years or five years out—that there will be three dominant imaging companies on a global basis and it will be Canon, Nikon, and Pentax/Ricoh"
It wasn't about dslr.

So maybe this turns out to be Apple, Samsung and Canon.
