What the heck, Pentax??

Fuji gets a new MF camera and *SIX* new G mount lenses!
New A99!
New EM-1 Mark II
Prototype digital Hasselblad V
3 new sigma lenses including the long awaited 85mm.
New panasonic cameras including the GH5.
New nikon action video cameras (lol)
New Canon M5 and lenses. 5dmk4, etc.

Not a single new announcement? I know its only press preview day, but this is disappointing so far.

It's possible that Pentax announce nothing new , due to the delay for the K1 and the K70, there may not be enough time to release something new by now.

Why were you expecting announcements? The K-1 and K-70 just shipped and the D FA primes are 2017 or later. I'm sure we'll get a new lens roadmap and maybe see some mockups tomorrow...CP+ is where we will see new product. Maybe.

This year, I've already spend lots of money into a K1 and DFA lenses. Please Ricoh, don't release anything that would tempt me to spend money, it's enough spent for this year. Thank you.

EM-1 Mk II - is interesting development; GH5 also but not unexpected - these companies are running full tilt and producing a lot of new gear all the time.

No update to the Nikon D810, D750?
5dMkIv was already known.

Honestly it seems like a weak set of announcements overall.
Not just due to a lack of Ricoh announcements.

Fuji was the wildcard...

Not really, there have leaks about the Fuji MF for months. It seems it might be using a derivation of the same 50MP Sony sensor that the 645Z uses. It is mirrorless, relatively small and I think actually falls into the 'crop' MF category - like the Leica S and Hasselblad XF. It has some new lenses, but everything is months away.

Pentax has had MF product in the market for years. Pentax has a good range of MF lenses, but in reality could use some more - still they will know what is selling and what is not. You could argue Pentax should produce mirrorless APS-C, FF and MF cameras to keep the buzz - but then again you could also argue that they shouldn't.

I wonder myself whether hybrid OVF with fully selectable display information isn't going to be a really viable option to EVF's - time will tell.

Good on Fuji with their announcements. I also thought the prototype configurable Hasselblad looked pretty interesting...

OK.....I will give it another day.

Usually they tease with "leaks" before something big is released and its been very very quiet. No rumors to report from any of my sources. I was hoping they have some lenses in the pipeline for the k1. Also they really need to get on with the apsc wide angle zoom that's been promised forever. My 12-24 is showing its age on the k3 these days. I think Sony and the earthquake is affecting new announcements.

Sadly (for me at least), Sigma has already announced their new lenses... and they are only for Canon, Nikon, and Sigma. Not as sad though as they are all super pricey hahaha

I guess if they ever release more lenses for K mount, it won't be announced at a camera trade show....

For me the few new stuff that will kind of shake the market are, so far:
1. Fuji GFX (that 110mm f2 lens!)
2. GoPro Karma drone, great to see another player in drone.
3. Fuji square format instax film (wait for all kinds of cameras that it will bring), instant film is taking off.

So far Fuji is leading the show. I think.
