Tentative release date is "early 2017" but you will remember that the 15mm f/2.4 was late to the party. No price indication yet.

See also http://irixlens.com/11mm for further details.

At Photokina, Irix are also presenting the prototype of a 45mm f/1.4. Very few details are available:

- Filter diameter: 82mm
- Manufactured in Korea like the other Irix lenses
- Two versions: Firefly and Blackstone
- Three mounts: Canon EF, Nikon F and Pentax K
- (Very) tentative release date: H1 2017.

Yes, and that is so because Pentax uses a mechanical lever (such as Nikon).
And it is because the Pentax mount is soooo difficult compared to other mounts. It's only those engineering behemots like Irix, Samyang, Laowa can find solutions.

"Look here Tamron, we made a bigger 45mm lens"

p.s. That lens looks bigger than 45mm f/1.4 for MF

That 45mm is both useless (manual focus) and monstruous when compared to 43mm limited.
But the last optician to enter the market supports Pentax, that's a good lesson for Sigmaron !

Seriously! What does this lens compete against? The Zeiss Otus and Sigma Art? Or 67 system??
Compare it to the Pentax DA 40mm ltd, FA 43mm ltd..

But hey, nice to see that a new 11mm and 45mm will become available for Pentax, beside the 14mm. Lots of third party support is great.

It doesn't compete against anything. It just fills the gap between your 43 and 50mm lenses. They don't want you end up shooting your 45mm-required-photos with the kit lens
