You have extracted the firmware file twice, by the look of it.

The file name that you copy to the SD card should be fwdc228b.bin.

Please check that the file name is exactly as described. If you have an earlier version of that file, Mac will add a *2* to the filename, and the camera won't accept it . I have done that bummer a few times myself

I deleted all earlier downloads from Pentax, dowloaded it again, so the file got saved by the correct name.

That isn't the filename the instructions say you need. 😊

The"-2" indicates it's the third try to unzip the original download. Remove that from the filename, and you're good to go.
