There's something, though... guess what's weather resistant. Yes, the Promote control.

Sure, besides the WR warning, it looks like a very capable product - it promises to control the camera via USB, for example.

If only would Ricoh would invest a tiny bit in a decent app for smart phones...

That seems like a missed opportunity. Someone could easily make a molded rubber port cover that has a snug hole for the remote control's USB jack.

Kickstarter?

This is very interesting, if for no other reason than they are able to control basic exposure functions via USB. The remote shutter and intervalometer stuff is done through a second cable using the camera's wired remote port. Yes, that means two (2) flaps open to make this work.

The power of the Promote is for long span time lapse work and associated bulb-ramping. That is the realm where true tethered operation or an expanded-feature wired remote such as the Promote shine.
