I updated 10 minutes after seeing it was available. K-3 works ( beautifully ) as before, but I have no KAF4 lens to try out the update !!!
Mine updated too, and working fine based on initial tests. I have don't have the KAF4 lens either, but no reason to suspect it won't work. Everything else seems fine so far, and no settings lost following the update

Good one Mike. So many more users can afford a new lens compared to a new camera body, I think this update and the K-50 as well, are going to be very successful for Ricoh/Pentax. Let's hope so !!! Our cameras are going to hold a better resale value as well.

The day my K-3 is sold, Peter, it will either be an antique or part of my estate sale (hopefully both!)

The update went fine, except I had to rename the .bin file. (I had an older .bin in the folder I unzipped the file to)

Now I need to sell some lenses so I can get the 55-300...

K-3 firmware update completed without issue. No apparent function or settings anomalies. I also do not have a KAF4 lens to test, yet.

For us here in the US this is the Black Friday deal of the century. I just updated my K-3 and the update was easy. I may not have the new 55-300 on my shopping list since I have the HD WR version but I hope to seem some new KAF 4 lenses soon and I am glad my K-3 will be ready for them. It would be icing on the cake if they release an update for the K-5 as well.

Confusing verbiage used in the Download Instructions:

"Only PENTAX K-3 users are permitted to download the firmware update."

"This software may only be used by users who own the PENTAX K-3."

Shouldn't this be better said: "Applies only to the K3."

Even that leaves unnecessary ambiguity regarding its specific applicability to the K3ii.
