Rest assured that Pentax will be even more DOOMED after the new camera is announced. Looking forward to the 'Why I won't buy a K-P' threads already.

You do, also you should keep quiet so you don't attract attention to the fact you're not even from the real Vancouver

As I said, I think it's unlikely. In my other area of interest - cars - it is very common for magazines to guess wildly at what the successor to, e.g., the VW Golf will be, and include renderings and specifications, only for it to turn out to be something entirely different.

Please take what I wrote with a grain of salt. I don't believe it to be true, it is just a translation of a magazine's speculation.
Talk to me about it, I've been hearing rumours since 2013 and every year since then about the new turbo STi-BRz... which Subie has confirmed many times they have no interest in doing. Pure speculation but it gets click hence why they are known as clickbait articles... I would venture to say this is indeed what this magazine article was, pure speculation in the hopes of driving trafic to the site.

Pentax hasn't made a pink camera in a long time, maybe they should make more now!

it costs a lot of time to study those survey's.
so there isn't time enough to devolpe new lenses, dslr, q.
Ricoh Pentax has become a study club

Don't worry, those studying the surveys are the managers. They're now busy with surveys, thus unable to pester working people with endless meetings.
I expect a significant boost in productivity.

I think you have a misconception of how this works.
1) Corporate hires an intern because somebody's cousin needs a summer job.
2) Intern gets assigned to a manager who has no time to train them or bother with them.
3) Intern whines to his cousin he is getting no assignments that will look good on his resume.
4) Manager gets a memo he should be making use of the "talented young intern" assigned to him.
5) Manager tells intern he is getting the important assignment of running a survey that will "help steer the future direction of the company".
6) Intern has no clue what the company even does much less how to survey their customers.
7) Intern asks the cute girl at the reception desk who has heard of Survey Monkey.
8) Intern spends next two months working on a Survey Monkey survey. Actually about 1 hour on the survey and the rest of the time hitting on the cute girl at the reception desk.
9) Manager vaguely remembers assigning a project to an intern and requests an update.
10) Intern reports survey is "ready to go".
11) Survey is sent out and resulting Survey Monkey report delivered to Manager.
12) Manager gives intern a "well done", fills out the internship evaluation with a glowing report and reports to higher that the "talented young intern" has made a significant contribution to the company.
13) Survey is tossed in the trash.

Have you ever written company's know-how procedures?
I think I'll have a job for you...as an intern off course.

LOL. Yep, part of my day job. Need something explained in simple easy to follow steps? Just let me know. My day rate is a bit steep though.

Since I started this whole thread off all those months ago, I feel I should give an update. But I don't think it's going to add much clarity.
- The K-3ii disappeared from Yodobashi and has not come back in stock. Their stores are currently selling the K-70, KP and K-1 only in K-mount. Their close rival Bic Camera is the same. I heard from shop staff at both shops that the KP has been doing very well.
- In some other noted specialist camera shops they have had the K-3ii listed as discontinued for a while but still have stock. The funny thing is that this is not for all kits. The body kit and the 18-135 kit are listed as discontinued, while the 16-85 is still current.
- Overall the number of online shops that are still selling the-3ii has fallen to just under half the number that will typically stock a current Pentax camera.

So Japanese retail is giving some mixed signals as far as I can see. In normal circumstances I would expect a successor at any moment, but some retailers seem to be positioning the KP as a successor, and others seem to indicate that the k-3ii might remain for a bit longer in its 16-85 kit form.
