Is Ricoh pentax slowely shutting down 😧
i dont think so.
But surely making up it's strategy for the next 5 years, in a never like before adverse business environment.
Look back in a blick at 2016 :
- Q system probably discontinued, no lens nor body issued
- only one APS-C new lens, new K-70, but incrediblingly unpublicised and launched at the worst year's period, so low sales
- no new APS-C sony sensor
- bad K-3II sales since the start early 2015
- unreacheable Nikon D500
- no 645 new lens
- "successful" K-1 launch, yet slowed down by lack of new primes
Global yearly photog sales volumes continuous drop of about 20%, reaching the lowest numbers since 2008...
So : what can we expect in 2017 ?
- at best new K-3 III and FF primes, even new APS-C wide zoom
- at worst : nothing but Theta R
In 2018 ?
Maybe a new mirrorless 645... with a few lenses.
