Ricoh could always supply a full function (AF, aperture control etc.) adapter such as Canon does with the EOS M cameras.

Of course they would, but also screw drive? That would probably make it quite loud. Still doesn't make it K-mount unless the Sony E-mount camera's are now also Canon EF-mount camera's

You can "bend" the law of physics in your imagination, Star Trek does that all the time

Once again, a genuine (?) leak is put aside while people are talking fantasy.

So many imagination, but I will wait the real information. However, if we can relate this pentax KP with their new patent as I read in digicame-info:

Patent list of Ricoh Imaging Corporation
Patent 2016-133765 | intellectual property portal "IP Force"
[publication date] July 25, 2016
[name of invention] shooting equipment accessories
http://ipforce.jp/patent-jp-A-2016-133765

The following seems to be a patent to remotely control from a smartphone, but it is possible to remove the back liquid crystal from the main unit and operate it remotely like a smartphone.

JP 2016-63277 | intellectual property portal "IP Force"
[publication date] April 25, 2016
[name of invention] imaging device and the imaging equipment and the operation terminal
http://ipforce.jp/patent-jp-A-2016-63277

Patent on AF processing.
Is it content that makes it possible to select AF processing by the contrast method and AF processing by the phase difference method according to shooting situation etc.

JP 2016-12094 | intellectual property portal "IP Force"
[publication date] January 21, 2016
camera equipped with the contrast AF function [name of invention]

Relate in which way, other than pure speculation?
In about a week we should have some specs leaked. Patience.

There are two things mixing up here.
The Pentax KP which was found in an Indonesian document, and a fantasy MX-1 Q-7 drawing published by a Japanese magazine (It clearly says M-E not KP and it is clearly mirrorless so not K-anything).:

Not the same rumor

Relate with more basis, rather than pure speculation

I'm afraid Ricoh Imaging didn't yet found a way to adapt real lenses to imaginary cameras.

What basis?

I did take an closer look and I think you are right. The lens looks like the 18-50mm RE. But it is mounted about 1,5 cm away from the main body, with an adapter in between. I can see two buttons, possibly lens release buttons, there. One on the body and one on the K mount adapter.

Pure speculation based on fantasy rumor of corse, but very interesting. If the M-E holds any truth, it means a new mount but probably just a PLE version of the 18-50 RE for K mount for this camera. The adapter size hits of no scew drive. I hope its real and has internal or optional external EVF.

Asahi man said, that Pentax KP is DSLR with new idea. The basis what I meant was the recent registered patents by Ricoh Imaging. Whether it is coming into reality, we shall see it.
But, honestly I am not going to put high expectation.

Well, I hope they'll manage to implement some of their most interesting patents. However, "new idea" could be something we don't expect... like those LEDs, for example.
The first patent - replacing back LCD with a smartphone holder or whatever it was - is a terrible idea for a DSLR (which must be a self-contained unit). Variable transmission mirror, expanding the AF area coverage through various means - they have stuff which might revitalize the DSLR concept.

Very neat. Nobody should be upset at having to buy a new grip, this time (not that some won't be, of course).
