Although possible, it would be very surprinsing to see a Samsung sensor. Since they left the canmera market, it seems Samsung hasn't developed any new APS-C or FF sensors, and it's not even clear they're still under production. It wouldn't make much sense for Pentax to spend R&D money to make their cameras compatible with a deadend sensor line...

Is there any sort of news conference/announcement planned, or are we just going around in circles here?

Are you dizzy yet? I know I am. So much so that I may regurgitate.

The new grip is necessary as the K-P grips you!

The K-P features an AF module and lens motor actuation that are so advanced that they can identify that the user is not panning fast enough or paying enough attention to the subject that it will move your hand to align camera and subject for the best focusing criteria using the 5-axis anti-shake mechanism.

There can be some within 5 mile radius, in altadena and on the mountain pasess like HWY 2, around in the state park and the end of sierra madre blvd, some 2 miles east on 210, 3 miles north. It's been hot and dry until recently though, so we haven't gotten that much in the past few years. It does look very nice when we have white mountaincaps.

Been there and seen it. Funny thing about California when a little snow falls. Everything shuts down. People don't get any experience driving in it, and continue to drive like they do the rest of the time. Dipsticks. Caltrans makes big trucks chain up for bare and wet roads. Morons.

Mrs. Racer and I were down that way a year ago over the holidays. Stopped in Bakersfield to visit a cousin, then went up to Frazier Park on the Grapevine, and took the 2 lane through the mountains to the coast at Ventura. Lots of snow up there, it was beautiful.

Did see a couple RUBS* on Harleys up there in the snow. Idiots.

{* RUBS = Rich Urban Bikers. $25 grand and 25 miles does not a biker make.}

Does anyone else remember that?
Lol, I fear the paint on the forthcoming silver edition of the Pentax KP may have too much the grey, lacklustre shade of an old cold camembert - and that is why I will not be buying a Pentax KP

Yes, the "P" is for "Psych" as in mind control. The camera is actually capable of injecting both intelligence AND creativity into the holder. It is also capable of determining current credit card balance and ordering its own accessories. "Do we have enough grips yet?" "Of course not!!"

New concepts are great, hopefully they have ironed out the kinks!

The fact that there is such emphasis on a new battery/grip system leads me to believe this is not an entry level camera...

Just a few more days until we know for sure!

And as said many times; Future is bright
I'm going to guess something completely different like a DSLR styled mirrorless?

I'm waiting for the K-3II replacement myself. Nothing else matters for now. Hopefully that bright future includes a K-3II replacement that will spank the competition in a lot of ways.

Isn't the KP name just as unlikely as K-9? I mean, K-Pee. Or is it pronounced K-Pie?
Perhaps the P is simply a placeholder until some engineer can figure out the next number for the new APS-C camera. Seems as they have never gotten a handle on the naming conventions. The numbers go up. The numbers go down. Letters get tossed in here and there. Sometimes to modify a current model's name when upgraded.

Or not.
