I'm curious, I wasn't going to spend any money on camera bodies in 2017. But if the AF system gets improved drastically over the K-3ii on a new APS-C body, I might need to start saving...
Oh yes. I feel I'm due for an upgrade (since I'm using a K-5 II as primary), so this has much interest to me.

There was also this nugget on the facebook PentaxForums page a couple of days ago:

If it's retro, it had bl**dy well better have the aperture linkage restored. Without that, "retro" is nothing more than a joke.

Don't go suggesting that some enterprising cost cutting hospital is going to try it. I must admit as a health professional myself the FOV would be fantastic, imaging uploading to Youtube "Trip through my Gullet" in glorious HD 360 surround (VR headset recommended)
Not having to twist the endoscope around constantly to make sure everything gets seen would be a boon to gastroenterologists and GI surgeons. I can actually see Theta technology doing really big things for medicine here, if only they can miniaturise it far enough.

The only trouble I see with this is, if those wanting this feature get it, they will expect it in subsequent camera bodies. Give inch, expect inch forever.

I can just as easily see Pentax saying "No, you got your retro full-frame DSLR with uncrippled mount that does all the things any of our film cameras could ever do, nothing more, nothing less. Now go away and enjoy your prize, and let the rest of the Pentaxians move forward."

They know owners of the retro body would keep that for their K and M lenses and buy a full-featured APS-C or FF body for bells-and-whistles work. The whining and complaining would then come from that tiny band of hold-outs who want an M42 DSLR with a flapper plate for the stop-down lenses and the aperture link for the SMC Takumars. (And considering just how many M42 lenses are still out there, they might be right in asking for it!).

Oh! How about a pink and white "Hello Kitty" themed camera?

(I foresee a group buy on rolls of gaffer's tape...)

I am sure it's possible. Perhaps it would need more and smaller lenses, but if a Pillcam can work, so can a tethered multi-lens scope.
I think it would be nice to have a noninvasive modality for scoping, like a good GI contrast agent for ultrasound. Maybe people would do it more often then.

Sayuri says something is coming in two weeks; it's not a continuation of the K-3ii, rather it's an entirely new concept.

Apparently it will have a newly designed battery grip as well...

I'm very curious. Is she talking about K-P?

DigitalFotoNetz.de :: Thema anzeigen - K-3 III ?
January 26th! And we are supposed to hold on to DA lenses and wait. Looking fwd. I am actually in the market for something with improved autofocus and thought of buying a nikon. I might wait a couple of weeks now.

Korejanai Robot - YouTube
From the write up (on another page, that actually links to that video) I see that robot was designed with the sole purpose of disappointing children who were expecting a better robot type gift. So does this mean Pentax was trying to say the K-r was disappointing? haha

More than "very likely" considering asahi man's statements, here and on the other forum.
