Wonderful looking camera ricoh, but... not considering it. Because likely, although not confirmed, video is the same. If I'm wrong, then I'm all on board! But otherwise... there is always the next model! My K-30 still works for now.

On the back, what is the sign on the top left button ? The triangle with 2 Lines...
No one's yet put forth a definite answer for this. Could be electronic level, could be horizon correction, could be something else we haven't thought of.

Edit: I spoke too soon. According to Pely, it's electronic level.

In the KP specs thread according to the KP first look video posted it's for the electronic level.

There is also a 'Fx3' button on the top of the K-P. They are just for assigning custom functions. K-1 has 2 of them.

I'm more curious about this mystery lump on the front of the body. Why does it need to be there?
Obviously an homage to the K-01 chimney

There's another thread with specs, which says you'll be able to get 1/24000 shutter speed with electronic shutter. That electronic shutter should allow silent or near silent shooting if you're willing to deal with the tradeoffs of using it (ie, shooting in live view, etc).
I would love to use the Live View. Very welcome for me.

Ouch
We can see the accelerator unit in K-70.
Prime IV and 5-axis SR in K-1.
any confirmation as to weather it will have any GPS/compass unit... or is it just a speculation??

Czech (apparently). There have been comments already from those who speak the language outlining what was said

So it has 3 different grips. Hmm. That sensor must be pretty awesome. If they threw in that 20-40Ltd with it, I'd buy it.

Not considering price for a minute but design/size etc.... If that one had an FF sensor (it would be taller I know) of any sort I would rush and preorder right now.

Very nice little cam. How they will keep one like this and update it

Go back a page or two, someone who speaks the language gave a blow by blow.

Wasn't much.

We westerners may not be the target of this camera. I would think a market would be the growing Asian middle-class who can afford to travel now - China, India, Thai, Vietnam etc. Those are massive untapped markets.

Also those of us who still want a DSLR for travel - but want it small, light and capable enough - which the KP seems to be.

Couple that with the small Limited primes and/or the DA 20-40 zoom, and you have a very small, light, capable camera package.
India ????.... the K-70 is hard to get here, & lens availability is an issue.... price is way higher than Canon/Nikon counterpart

People want Pentax, but they must get their business right.

Seen people who wanted Pentax but went to Nikon Canon due to lens availability, service and high price, often unreasonable.

If it will be K-3II's replacement soon, KP is not bad move. It means 4 lines of cameras. K-70, KP, K-3III, K-1.

Did @kenspo stated that the KP is not a K-3II replacement?
