Maybe it refers to the mount: P for PLM and the body will not have an aperture block at all and only use PLM lenses. Which would mean a whole slew of PLM lenses released at the same time.
KP! The camera with no heritage and no respect for the past!

The use of kp I know in German is the acronym for "kein Plan" which means "no clue".

I find that fits perfectly. Because we have:
- no clue what kind of camera it will be
- no clue when it will be announced
- no clue where Pentax is going with their naming scheme

Oops, you're right. I speak german too but I usually don't use any of the abbreviations.

However, I don't think "No clue" is a good name for a camera, even if it fits for the moment!

If it is not a low-end FF, very likely it will be another low-end APS-C!

Dude.

It replaces the K-3 series. Pentax doesn't do low-end.

Just. Stop.

Not true, that's just innuendo.

Ricoh has many gastroenterology innuendos in their line up. Here's another one, gastroscopy housing for ricoh theta: https://www.amazon.com/Ricoh-TH-1-Water-resistant-Clear/dp/B014D22OSQ

Pentax also have KP lenses in their portfolio of products. They are C mount machine vision lenses designed for 2/3" and 1" sensors. That's not the point either.

It's a subtle hint about what they plan to do to the competition

Don't go suggesting that some enterprising cost cutting hospital is going to try it. I must admit as a health professional myself the FOV would be fantastic, imaging uploading to Youtube "Trip through my Gullet" in glorious HD 360 surround (VR headset recommended)

Sayuri says something is coming in two weeks; it's not a continuation of the K-3ii, rather it's an entirely new concept.

Apparently it will have a newly designed battery grip as well...

I'm very curious. Is she talking about K-P?

They said it isn't a further development of the K-3 II. It could (for all we know) replace the K-3 II in the lineup.

We shall wait and see!
I'm curious, I wasn't going to spend any money on camera bodies in 2017. But if the AF system gets improved drastically over the K-3ii on a new APS-C body, I might need to start saving...
