A successor to the K-3, a reduced body for a compact expert APS-C camera.

Now it's getting interesting.

BTW: I recall Pentax offering different rubber grip sizes on the K-7 (or was it the K-5?) on the domestic Japan market. Maybe they found a way to easily change the grip, just like you could on the LX.

Cool. So the APSC flagships also get the 3rd e dial as the K-1.

Seems really nice retro look for me. I hope that this model will finally have a decent video capabilities and if yes - I will instantly buy it.

I guess it should have something that could appeal to K-1 owners... good video specs could be one, and a very fast burst another.

Video Is not pentax priority.
I think we have better probability to see the K-1 AF module on the K-P.
The multiple grip choice Is a false innovation. The fact Is if the new design Is vintage, the handling will be vintage too :-) bad in other words. So Pentax Is forced to release multiple grip to solve this handling problem.
One positive point releasing a vintage styled APSC Is that they really seem listening to their consumer wishes.

Not being a priority doesn't mean it should be forgotten and not improved.

For Pentax, usually, lesser format cameras have been the farm to test technology for bigger format ones, so there should be something that could find its way to new FF and 645 DSRLs...

It looks really cool. I will buy this, instead of getting Pentax K-1, if AF is improved significantly.
