Pointer finger on shutter, middle finger on the wheel.
I guess they could of put a small LCD on it like the K1 but the back screen plus the LCD in the viewfinder should be enough.
No room for LCD on top panel.. the shutter button is shifted back because there is no grip for it to be on.. that side of the camera is likely a little smaller than on K1

Since there is no 'crop' option for 3rd wheel, this must surely be APS-C camera.

Of course, the first iteration would be named KP3-0

If this is the K3 II replacement, I'm not really enthusiastic either (no LCD, buttons layout seems a bit weird). But I'm really happy to see the AF point selection button back on the OK button again, I hate that on the K3!
If they are just trying something different to see how well is it received and launch a K3-III at CP+, that's fine! But this seems a bit optimistic, keeping in mind all the work they must have to do with lenses.
The price tag is fair though
there is an LCD here:

which pic were you referring to?

its said here, the KP is very different but could be a replacement for K-3 II.

Looking at the grip the front dial seems not a dial rather a touch dial. like you swipe it left to go to left and right to go to right. Touch improves the WR of the camera since no exposed area.

Can't say first impressions are good. It looks rough/unfinished somehow - like someone threw all of the components into a bag and this is how it came out.
Pentax REALLY need to start delivering on areas where they fall behind - like AF tracking performance and lens choice. Gimmicky bodies with swappable grips are not going to take the brand forward.
I've been a keen user of the brand for a while now -but enough is enough. Let's see some tangible progress where it's really needed!

Maybe.. I believe using the third wheel would require me to change how I grip the camera. Looking at the placement of the back dial and AF button, I think I would have to grip the camera in a different way.. but then all three look to be easy enough to reach. There is no dedicated AF button but I would use the AF/AEL button for that and not miss AEL

or it could mean that its really the Pentax K-3 III - It could be this since pronouncing the K "three three" might sound ridiculous for some, hence the name change. Also the K-3 II successor is due this march-april.

Also K-5 never went beyond mark II, they could have called the K-3 as K-5 mark III. Its not as if they were going to continue the K-5 line anymore, so K-3 was the immediate successor to K-5 II.
So maybe we are seeing the K-3 series being renamed to KP

also looking at the sketch here, it looks identical to K-3 series. It looks too small for a scaled down K-1 ( like D750,6D). (maybe the name K-2 is reserved for it)

looking at the rear edge, it doesn't look like it has a fully articulating screen, maybe something like K-1 or D500. I'd be very disappointed if it didn't have any articulation...
