My first impressions are neutral! I like some of the looks and some other not so much. I'm not concerned about the ergonomics, I'm sure it will be a pleasure to use this Pentax camera too. The vertical front wheel instead of an embended horizontal one doesn't bother me either, I think it will be easy to use as the previous one. What I'm interested in though are the specifications and the AF performance. I see only 27 AF points, so maybe it borrows the same AF module from the K-3II, which means no real upgrade.

I want to upgrade my K-5IIs as a back up body for my K-1, but only if there is a noticable upgrade in AF performance and a 24Mpxl sensor with a fast and long burst rate (a faster camera all in all) I would upgrade to the KP...

I'm very interested to see what Pentax has prepared for us!

For me KP is a perfect camera for someone who has a Limiteds in their setup. I shoot architecture a lot and lack of a top lcd is a big con for me. But I understand that lack of it is compensated by flipping screen. Great grip also!

Battery or handgrips?.....its neat that the handgip can be adjusted, catering for big/medium/small hands.

Its on/off, that's for sure, idk if it also has digital preview, or even optical preview for that matter.

Really nice looking camera, the grips look great! Definitely considering one as a buddy for my k3. Lack of a top LCD is too bad, looks like a nice compact package that still keeps the build quality of the k3.

Even MZ-6 had top LCD

---------- Post added 01-24-2017 at 05:10 AM ----------

LV switch is not easy-to-use, why no separate button for LV?

To be fair, the MZ-6 didn't had a back LCD.

I think the significance of top LCD screen for Pentax had taken a backseat when the K-1 was released with a much smaller LCD.

looks like Pentax wants us to use the back display for all LCD info.

As for me, only K-S1's design was worse. I pass KP.
KP is the pure eclecticism.
