I would like for Pentax to split op the aps-c top line and make a different body more like the Nikon D500 (except size but with the controls). I never liked the mode dial, and now they went and put another dial on there , reduced the grip ergonomics and replaced the front control wheel with some dirt scooping thing.

Based on this image, the AF point is still 27 right ? That is quite disappointing fact, that Pentax has not making progress really well

That doesn't look very small to me. Comparing to a K-5 picture it looks about the same size.

Is it the K3ii replacement?.....probably not, I think its just a different camera which doesn't follow a previous model.

I think this is fine. The only problems are ISO button and the top LCD. I don't expect AF-centric camera, there is no dedicated mode selection (AF-S, C etc) or joystick to move the points around.
Looks like a 'premium' rather than 'pro' camera. We now know that letters after K are for a mad-line, and numbers, for the regular one.

I think it looks good with smaller grip and, looks functional otherwise.
Changing grips depending on what size of a camera you want is great. Also, there will be 3rd party offerings, so no more 'one size fits most', it's a good move.

Battery or handgrips?.....
I find handgrips as a nice feature for people who have a problem with different hand sizes. I mean the DBG7 - sexy.

But the K-3 II has been discontinued (very likely) now also out of stock at srs in Britain.

I think it looks lovely. At first glance 'hello k30 replacement'. I'm just not going to be happy with the price. The AUD + camera price drama means it will be very hard to justify. Regardless how much I like its looks...

It's just us not being able to make up our minds - asking both large, comfortable grips and ultra-small cameras
Just like with the locking mode dial, when we wanted it both ways. Well, we got that...

It's going to be a premium camera. The finish on dials (two materials) and price point (~$1350) suggest they are aiming for something equivalent to K-3, but a bit more quirky and stylish.
