I wonder if there will be any technical improvements over K-3 II. If not, I will probably wait till the next release with upgrading. These grips could be nice, but may not be worth extra $500 over K-3 II.

I like the new design, though I would want to hold it in my hands first to feel whether I can get to grips with the new design, too. It seems like we are finally getting to the old SLR sized form factor - now how amazing would that be in all its 35mm glory! Sometimes I pick up my ME-S and just wish my DSLR was the same size and had the same field of view.

What worries me though is the lack of a GPS button - so no GPS? I would have preferred to sacrifice the flash, heck the ME didn't have flash either!!11!! [seeks cover before being struck by lightning by the in-built flash advocates].

I'd love to see how it looks WITHOUT any of the attached grips. Is it still functional like a ME-Super, just smaller?

The mirror looks smallish - this isn't a micro four-thirds sensor, is it?

Just putting that thought out there. P for petit (small) sensor?

Otherwise we have an APS-C K-1, but I like the customizable control dial; there are things I would have liked to put on it that the K-1 doesn't have (specifically, flash exposure compensation; I use that a lot to dial flash up and down).

Perhaps it's worth holding out for a K-1 successor with the same features?

I'm waiting to tell more about sensor and AF system if you please.
AF probably hasn't changed a lot. Same AF coverage markings on the focusing screen reflected in the mirror. They did have the add a extra large hump for the aperture motor.

Yes, that's a point - give us some scale! If this is an ME-sized camera, it could well be a smaller sensor in there. Hmm...

If they have made an ME-sized DSLR with even an APS-C sensor, I would be very tempted to forego a K-1. Now I will have TWO cameras whose control systems I need to assess when next I am near a major store.

One SD card slot? I don't see the icons for switching cards next to any buttons and the rear LCD display just shows a single card with no number.

Seems like AP anniversary camera and K-01 successor.. not like K3 successor.

probably 24mpix
27pt AF from K3
Horrible LV and VIDEO mode selector.
Horrible layout of front wheel and shutter.
AF/AEL button combined in one like on low-end.
NO TOP DISPLAY and small battery, which will result in 400-500 shots life at best.

Seems to have one memory card slot also..

Nice collectible camera with interesting design, but certainly not a serious hi-end APS-C camera.

I hope not - a single card slot would be a big retrograde step in my opinion.

'shouldn't concentrate on new cameras when AF is poor'
'shouldn't have gimmicks like exchangeable grips when AF isn't improved'

It'd be better to lay off the designers yes?
I've been involved (testing mainly) in PC game development in the past and there's the exact same 'problem' there. 'Why's are your still adding new cars when the sounds aren't fixed??

Maybe because it's not the same team working on it? Can't stop a whole company for ONE issue to catch up, besides a year ago a canon user praised my k-50s AF performance and thought it was faster than what he was used to.

I quite like the KP. I just hope all users will be qualified enough to ensure the grips are screwed on well enough

Would be really cool if we could have a 'flat'grip too, to enhance the retro vibe further.

Some people are complaining for the sake of complaining; the best is to ignore them.
