Horizon Level? - Okay.
But 'Fx2'?
Found it: "You can customize the PENTAX K-70’s operation by assigning the desired functions to the set of buttons, including the Fx1 and Fx2 buttons." Must have overlooked this on the K-70/K-1.

It's a second programmable function button. The first is the "Raw/Fx" button near the flash button on the side of the camera. The K-1 also has the Fx2 button functionality, on the bottom button of the four way d pad.
Thanks for answering this.

That's been said several times already.

and the app thing is very handy to have
Some people say they don't like having to rely on another device for camera functionality, but I'm not one of them, and the majority of photographers (just about everywhere, now) carry a smart phone with them, anyway. So, the majority will have one less device to carry, if an app can be used to substitute a phone for an infra-red remote. Personally, I like the ability to use an app on my phone to trigger the shutter on my K-3 and (to a lesser extent, because of the flippy screen on it) on my K-1.

There is also a 'Fx3' button on the top of the K-P. They are just for assigning custom functions. K-1 has 2 of them.

I'm more curious about this mystery lump on the front of the body. Why does it need to be there?

Only one SD card slot
Confirmed as not K-3II replacement, nor any 'flagship'.

It covers the aperture motor.

I hope it isn't a clackers when it comes to shutter sound, what battery does it use?

The K-7/5/3s have a bump in the same place. I'm hoping it indicates the KP has the quiet shutter/aperture/mirror mechanism.

There's another thread with specs, which says you'll be able to get 1/24000 shutter speed with electronic shutter. That electronic shutter should allow silent or near silent shooting if you're willing to deal with the tradeoffs of using it (ie, shooting in live view, etc).

True. But the lump looks bigger on K-p than on K-3/5/7.
(K-70, K-S2, and K-1 lack that lump entirely).

Hopefully we will see a transparent plastic body K-p on display at CP+.

Exactly, and that is where I think it is firmly aimed. Also travelling, where you are walking about all day with gear slung over your shoulder.

It's a different shape, but I think that's due to efforts to make the body thinner. Distances relative to the mount plate appear to be the same. I'll have to play with overlaying views later tonight.
