What Im thinking is that we are mixing leaks about 2 cameras. Specs are from KP, but rumored price (1100 GBP) is from next K3-like camera. If so, ten we will see spec of another camera very soon, if it's price is already known.

Well the mystery is over about looks and specs....comment on the sensor will probably come after Ricohs official statement.

If it has the quiet shutter and 14-bit RAW, then I'd say it is firmly aimed at ME (almost frighteningly so), the somewhat-enthusiastic travel/hobby/zoo/museum/garden shooter.

Apparently, Pentax knew I was weighing buying a K-3/K-3II/K-70 for zoopix, and decided to really turn the screws by throwing in the ability to be compact OR use large lenses comfortably. I still prefer a 16MP sensor for shooting indoors, but they seem to be pressuring me on that front, as well.

The specs all look rather interesting. It's like an updated K-3/3II.

- 27-point 'SAFOX 11' autofocus system (25 cross-type)

^ It looks like they didn't even try to revamp the AF system. Pretty much exact same AF system from before.

- 'PRIME IV' image processing engine with image accelerator unit

^ However, I wonder if that will give the AF system a small performance boost. Hmmm....

Makes me wonder if Pentax has something else up their sleeve for CP+.
Pretty sure the K-70 was marketed as having that too. (the image accelerator)

Looks good! I've booked a ticket for CP+ so I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. I promised myself I'd keep my K-S2 for 3 years but if this looks good and people's first impressions are good then I may be breaking my own promises...

24.33 Mpix: this is not the K-3 II sensor (6,016 x 4,000), nor the K-70 sensor (6,000 x 4,000).
Could be a different sensor. But could just be due to masking?

The only drawbacks for me are lack of top LCD and some questionable ergonomics. But to finally judge the latter I would need to get the camera into my hands.
The other specs are crazy good for not that top of the line APSC camera. I know that some are dissapointed with Safox XI but come on guys, there must be some space for improvments in K3iii (or whatever name they will choose).

2017 is exciting. It will be a good moment to upgrade my well working K5II (provided I will have money that I do not have now )

Perhaps. It definitely seems more like the price of a flagship, which this has been thoroughly disproved to be.

But even if that is the actual price, I still have hope we'll see a K-3 II replacement at CP+. That could be why they are releasing news of this camera before CP+. So there isn't competition between news releases?

Sensor is very interesting. We've been waiting for a significant improvement in aps-c land for 3 years now? (Since the K-5 IIs)
K-3II replacement could be a bit of an animal
Ref those complaining about cost / expense, it's your currency losing value and not cameras getting more expensive. Do some research on Gbp vs J Yen or $ vs Yen or € vs Yen over the last 12 months.

The top of that camera appears to be metal so perhaps it is machined and that is why the MSRP is higher than the K-3 ii and K-70? Probably not but either way it looks kinda retro with all the dials and such and probably has higher manufacturing costs I'd guess. The three interchangeable grips seems to be a good path to take. I have watched a lot of reviews and there is usually a comment about how a camera fits the reviewer's hand. It definitely looks interesting.

Since they are going the route of some handgun manufacturers by including the three different size grips could they possibly also add the option of higher capacity and add an extra SD card slot in the battery grip (if not already under that door on the side?)

Same sensor as Sony A6500 but lower frame rate and no 4K video?
