maybe price point, If you want an AF system like K-3 II and some other features like more buttons etc from K-3 II, but dont want the pricing of K-3 II, then this is a good deal.

For me the K-70 was very good, but the 11 pt AF was dreadful. Wanted some AF-C tracking - not possible with 11 pts. I also wanted a few more custom buttons, and there are ample on the KP.
But, the problem is that the rumored price here seems to be €1,130, while we can buy the K-3 II, from respectable retailers, for around €750...

I look forward to more info on this.

That's a LOT more than the current K-1/K-3/645Z 86kb RGB sensor. Would be wonderful if true.

So it can use both size batteries?

That's a very modest buffer.

Usually the Japanese pay overs.....K1 wasn't near our equivalent of $2799 when it was released.

I don't think so. That's K-3II intro pricing. This will be more like K-70 intro pricing, and I bet the price will drop quickly once the K-3II replacement is announced.

The grip, yes. The camera itself, only the smaller one.

So it is just a bit heaver than the K-S2 (678g including battery and memory card).

I had been hoping that the KP was lighter - somewhere between 500-600g to compete more effectively with small, light mirrorless cameras like the X-T2 (507g with battery and SD)

Tomorrows offical reveal, specs and Ricoh commentary on what the KP is and why they have built it certainly be will be interesting.

Sorry for that. There was an error in my translation. It's 86,000 like the current one. I corrected my previous posts accordingly.

Based on these specs and the camera's appearance, it looks like they're going after a very specific set of users: those who value image quality and build quality but don't necessarily need the speed of an APS-C flagship (which would have a larger buffer and faster AF). I think it would make sense if we eventually saw a model higher than this, essentially an APS-C K-1 in a smaller body with faster burst. The lack of a 1/8000s mechanical shutter speed would seem to suggest this.

That said, this camera might make a lot of sense for people who were eyeing the K-1 but thought it was too expensive, yet still wanted something with better image quality than the current APS-C offerings. That's obviously something that we'll have to test first-hand

That is correct. It is a long conversation but I like APS-C as a sweet spot for image quality versus price. That rules out the m4/3 cameras, many of which are very good.

I don't really like the Sony APS-C offerings. The Fuji for me provides a good contrast for Pentax APS-C as they have a good range of small primes etc, that is why I used the XT-2 for comparison.

Both 24MP APS-C, WR bodies. Pentax has a mirror box and IBIS obviously. Does that need to add 200g weight over the Fuji?

so no GPS for KP since O-GPS being sold separately as per updated rumors... hmm... cost & weight cuttings.... also 1/6000th max mechanical shutter means it has the same shutter mechanism from K-70.

so now there is Motion bracket, depth of field bracketing - shutter and aperture bracketing - I always wanted these.

looks like the KP is a mixture of all K-70+K-3 II+K-1
