Amen to that! You nailed it, at least I hope it is a good camera as I pre-ordered!

819,200? I suspect that the sensor might be the new BSI CMOS used on the a6500...

Really want to know how it performs under bad lighting, as I have always wanted an APS-C camera with 12,800 usable ISO so that I can photograph trains at dawn/dusk!

You say that like it's a bad thing!
That is my impression also. Nikon Df is the only camera I considered if I switch to Nikon. But by the color, Nikon Df is better with its black. Like Iphone with jet-black.

A friend of mine has one in silver. It's simply stunning. And nice and heavy. You could beat a Canon owner with it.

That's a very important consideration for most of us.

I hate it when my camera breaks after I hit some Canon user in the head with it.

It should be a requirement of detailed camera reviews to know how well the product in question survives such a test!

Hmm...

Let's just say, without making further judgments, that the KP has cleaner, less busy lines and appurtenances.
I'd touch the KP and the Df's 'appurtenances' - No problem!

But if it breaks for other reasons, at least you know you can still make use of it to hammer someone

For some reason, Maxwell's Silver Hammer comes to mind…

Facts for sure :
1- KP is no way Pentax's new APS-C flagship
2- KP doesn't appeal to most of the core pentaxians, but will be an interesting upgrade mainly for entry-level shooters (it will also bring back some ex-pentaxians)
3- CP+ 2017 will all be Theta and KP oriented
4- K-3/K3II successor is not ready, and we have no certitude when it will be
5- K-3 has been discontinued for a few months

Facts/Ideas for speculation :
6- K3II is already discontinued (see the other thread quoting Yodobashi advert)
7- KP will "stand alone" together with K-70 and K-S2 at least for the whole 2017 year
8- we won't see either any new DFA lens during next CP+, as there seems to be no room for K-1 [enormous mistake if confirmed]
9- idem for medium format [ditto]
10- Ricoh could well be thinking getting rid of Pentax (or even Ricoh Imaging) at this moment
11- Pentax isn't YET doomed, but future isn't bright either

I really like the looks and style with a few features mis-mashed here and there. But the price seems about $250 over the top.
Really interested.......But only on a Black Friday Sale for this one.
BTW.....the shutter is tested to 100,000 but isn't advertised as being rated for that ? Kinda confusing to me.

There are three Lens lectures scheduled. IIRC GR's are typically announced in April.
Thank you for info!

4. Who is your market - soccer mums (use phone cameras), enthusiasts, professionals?
just a little observation - I've been asked half a dozen times if I'm a professional photographer when I'be got the K-1 (and usually 70-200) on a tripod: I don't think I ever was with the K-3, even with my older (bigger) film days lenses. there is some sort of cut off point in people's minds still
