As it was in the 80s, SLR went down drastically after compact cameras came ( that was a new thing) they sold well. Many buy what is new and marketed well, but those who are enthusiasts continue to buy SLR/DSLR/MILC.
Q are a MILC. the screen was "bad" in sunlight, the cameras was slow and some of the lenses was "Toys". So some ( or all) reviews turned thumbs down and readers saw the red flag.
Same with K01, the first APS Milc for Pentax. Not so great screen, some mistakes and a thick camera , reviews sad no because they expected a short camera, a better screen and perhaps more. They did not realize that a thicker camera and shorter lenses are easier to use.
Q can be great if there would be an enthusiast camera too, 3? fast lenses and a autofocus adapter for K lenses.
Q lens 01 = 8,5/1,9 ( Equivalent 40mm) and 37gr, a 9mm f1 may be able to land on 100gr or a little more, and that is OK to handle.
Remember, the sweet spot for Q7 are around f2,8 (5,6 for APS and 8 for FF)
A 4mmf1,2 (Equv.~20mm) can be a 250gr lens?
A FA50/1,4 are eqv. 280mm. Imagine an autofocus 50/1,4 eqvivalent to 280mm. ...
Pentax are alone with Q. and can do allot with it. ...
Pentax donīt have to do the same cameras and lenses as other brands do.
