Wow! Can't really think of another word right now. ISO25600 looks like ISO3200 on my K-5 IIs ...

Eh, it's easy to hide noise at web sizes.

Thanks, these are interesting, particularly those 51200 and below. From all appearances, the KP mops the floor with my K-3.

Thanks, guys.

I'm still not particularly impressed. One could get similar results using third party NR software, I think.

Edit - not that I'm complaining. Every little bit helps.

It's also prerelease firmware. So will likely be even better in real world. I'm impressed.

Not that impressing me is important but, here's a shot at ISO 800, pushed 4 stops (ISO 12800 equivalent):

I could barely see this little guy thru the OVF. DXO PRIME noise reduction.

I wonder if ISO figures are inflated, and if yes, by how much. Do we know of any sensor tech breakthrough that would warrant a drastic increase in a sensor signal?

I'm not sure this camera is "aimed" at those of you who enjoy doing PP.

The real test will those of us who never look past the SOOC JPEG.
I don't know about "enjoy"!

I'm not trying to be critical of the KP's performance. It's basically what I would expect, after seeing photos taken with K-70, Nikon D7200, and Sony A6300, which presumably use the same sensor. We are seeing an incremental step over the previous generation of sensors.

Most cameras can look good with high ISO online. When its print, you can separate the real good ones from the rest. I will start already next week testing.
