Hopefully we get an announcement soon about the upcoming Pentax APS-C flagship. Pentax needs to pack a lot of excellence & win into it.
You mean, the D7500 press release looks like a mighty fine press release?
IN my on going quest to check out the AF speed of various cameras I went to IR to check out some specs.
My criteria
Frame rate - less than K-3
Sensor size - less than K-3
Buffer size - not mentioned, given that this is based on marketing hype it's very unlikely it has a useful buffer.
AF performance, not yet measured from which it borrows it's technology, probably not faster than .170 second, a K-3 is .139 and a K-1 is .09.
The only conceivable reason for buying this camera as a Pentax user would be for tracking and 4k video. For a still shooter who rarely uses tracking or video, it has nothing to offer. But, if those things are important to you and you have the lenses, it looks like a great companion body. Two bodies is enough for me and I prefer my K-1 - K-3 combo, but for someone with different interests this could fit their profile.
They really stress the low light capability, but is it even up to KP standards?
