K-P is visually smaller K-1. I think control set is copying the K-1 too. My point is that if you buy more FF sensors it makes much better price for each, and with "DX" crop you can use every lens designed for APS-C size. I wish I am wrong in this
The control set (buttons, dials, doors, functions) is mid-range, not K-1.

KP looks nothing like a K-1. It is visually distinct from previous body designs.

We don't know what Pentax's supply contract with Sony states. Could be their contract only allows them 7000 FF sensors a month and they need volume in APSc.

Why pay $1,800 to crop your sensor to 16Mp? Pay $1,100 (or $1,400 for the flagship) and keep your 24Mp image using your long lenses

Hey, that interests me: what type of scanner did you at the time/and what kind of print size were you able to obtain?
Thanks
It was a friends ~$30000 commercial drum scanner, can't remember brand (a grey unit about the size of a toaster oven) would scan up to 4x5 film..., scanned at 43MP, Fractaled to ~64Mp. As the NYC comedians used to say "It woiked!"...

Any news, leaks or insider info?

I already have money waiting on shelf.... Ricoh, hurry up! Last year it was late!

Just grab K3 body with flash commander and top display, add fully articulating display from KS2, sensor & SRII from KS3 ehm KP and squeeze in honed AF from K1. Add latest image processor, boost memory for large fast buffer and we are good to go. Competition will be strong as hell.. D7300 is coming soon and D500 already are selling like hot cakes.

My wish-list also contains auto AF correction using LV. More fps than 8 would also be welcomed, but not critical. Dot matrix top display would also be better than LCD and user will be able to select what info to show even if display is smaller.

I'm also waiting for this. Improved AF tracking is what im after. They just need to grab the best recent improvements in the K-70/KP & put it into a flagship body that has faster performance.

Do you really think that Pentax has real tracking AF?

Pentax KP Continous focus test - PentaxForums.com

^ It looks like Pentax has already started working on it. If the KP can track better than the K-3II, the next flagship should track even better with whatever next generation SAFOX they use. One can dream, right? Hahaha!

And yes. I'm being realistic. Not asking for D500 or 7DII level of tracking, but just competent enough tracking. I know that D500 or 7DII type tracking will cost serious money & I don't think Pentax has the resources to do that. I would like for them to prove me wrong, though.

As I remember - pentaxforums already made some test with new PLM zoom and they said that hard to call it tracking.

I thought you might stumble on the thread...
I guess we all suffer silently for the most part, not realizing how bad we have it.
This guy and his KP somehow managed to successfully track a moving subject so it sure appears to be some improvement somewhere between the two. I guess your personal experience with the PLM/KP combo didn't turn out as well?

It has to be easy, right? Just adding things?

Well, I'm now struggling with removing something from a product. Which should be trivial, just delete the d*mn thing. Somehow it isn't

Pentax has AF-C, not tracking AF system. To say honest, I could put SPORT mode at my K200D and it works. Not very good, but better than AF-C...

here is tracking AF. not miracle, but I don't know when Pentax could have the same...
