Nicely stripped heart pine door with a few residual paint spots. Ahhhhhh, the fragrance of a corrugated bottom Stanley Bedrock #607 hand plane's see through heart pine shavings while fitting the door.

I wonder when a price will be announced. Some of us have to save our pennies.

Unless RI shot that with a camera body outputting 2.5 MP, I'm going to say it was likely resized from a much larger original file. As a result, the downscaling can affect sharpness.
That is true, but it is quite big for posted shot, don't tell it all yet. It would be interesting to see original for PP...but atleast there is this.

may we gossip more? lol..
Ok, kind of strange that the model is Caucasian, when every Pentax corporate model was Asian, as far as I know.
Could it be possible that the lens is already out in the wild?

Just get the Sony Zeiss 55mm F/1.8 and you won't be sorry. It is the perfect blend of size, build quality, and image quality. I almost left Sony earlier this year, but that lens is the reason I still have my A7II and I will probably add an A9 or A7rIII in the spring along with a couple of Zeiss Batis lenses. I had the opportunity to rent the A9 for a wedding and it is simply amazing. The RAW files are not as good as the K-1, but the AF is fantastic. Waiting for more reviews of the A7rIII and I might rent it for an event to see if the AF is close enough to the A9. RAW files from the A7rII is just as good as the K-1 so I expect the a7rIII to be a little better.
I was not being totally serious
I chose the Sony A7rII because of the (much) more compact package of the mirrorless body and the Zeiss Loxia lenses manual focus lenses. It is perfectly fine, the BSI sensor is wonderful, and the Loxia 35 and 50mm are compact and light and beautifully built. Still the Pentax K1 with the newly developed authentic Pentax 50mm f1.4 should have some serious IQ, that will be hard to meet with my set-up.

I'd say it's splitting hairs when it comes to modern cameras) especially modern high res bodies.

I love the Loxia lenses. If most of my work didn't require AF I would buy all of them. My reason for going with an A9 is AF speed and silent shutter. I have only used the Batis 85mm so far and it is the perfect blend of size and performance.

I have no doubt the new D-FA* 50mm is going to be an excellent lens, but until Ricoh catches up on AF I'm going to be going a different direction.

I agree 100%. I went with the K1 because of IBIS and Weather Sealing. 36 megapixels was the deciding factor on choosing it over the Sony A7 II. Any good camera these days is quite capable with a good lens.

The latest OEM 50mm F1.4 lens introduced to the market was a Sony.
Sony in general prices it's lenses significantly higher than the competition. I would say the Pentax lens will be a few hundred more than the Sigma 50mm F1.4 art. So around $1200,-

Today's average camera is quite capable with a good lens. A K-5 II with this lens would probably be quite impressive although I doubt anything older than the K-3 will actually work with this and have working autofocus. I'm a little curious what the "worst" camera will be that can use this lens, fully functioning.

I would not go as low as $1200 - it's a high-end lens after all - but yes, it shouldn't be anywhere near $2100.

But the answer to "how much should I save" is: as much as you can. The D FA* 85mm f/1.4 is next

My S-M-C Takumar 50mm F1.4 still is a great performer. I wouldn't see any need to spend as much on a 50 as I did on the K-1. (apart from that i would take me a long time to save up again). For AF I have a perfectly decent FA 50mm F1.7. The D FA 50 1.4 is simply not for me. I couldn't justify spending up to $2000 on it by a very long shot.
