ogl: If you want a travel lens for a K1, there's a 43, 50, the 50 Macro, and a 55 that are all smaller. 29 pages and you're repeating "it's large" which has been pretty well established at this point.
I think this is an awesome step in progressing the Pentax full frame ecosystem. It's not a lens *for me* but I think it's an excellent product to have available *for us*. Cheer up.

If we're only going to go by f-stop as a reason to make a lens a certain size, the FA50 1.4 would like to have a word with you.
People are going to relate things in size to other things. A few days ago I posted about how the new Sigma 14 f1.8 weighs more than the Pentax/Tamron 15-30. A few people commented about how that was crazy stuff, for Sigma to make such a heavy lens. How could this not be comparable?
I know, I know, the 28-105 was designed by Pentax, the company known for smaller and lighter lens than the competition. Oh, wait...
