For those bitching about the soft DA*55: may I remind you the DA*55 is designed as a portrait lens. Which means some softness and a long focus throw?

For those bitching about size and probable size: it is quite obvious: seeing the number of 50s available (k mount compatibility helloooo), what else *new* could they offer? That's a no brainer.

This is what most wanted; the new generation of modern prime lenses. High quality optic for pro photographer.

As it is with SUVs, so it will be with lenses, it seems. One hopes the Limiteds will remain the hot hatches of the Pentax lineup.

A bigger picture for those who would like to compare lenses according to bayonet size.

Three times bigger and heavier than FA50/1.4? And 3 times higher price?

Do you think we can see new Limited earlier than 2020?

As for me, wide-angle prime lenses are more important.

DA50/1.8, DA*55, FA50/1.4 could work on K-1. Why DFA50/1.4 first?

I guess this lens means that the three primes in the roadmap are not the rebadge of the three /1,8 Tamrons.

Look at the size of that thing!

Any comment from those insisting that new lenses will necessarily be Tamrons?
(eurostar was quicker...)

Certainly a nice design. It even looks like it may have internal focus, which would be very nice.

It seems to me that the current fashion/ demand is for corner to corner evenness, and I'm assuming bigger lenses can give a bigger image circle, so more of the image that his the sensor is coming through the less distorting part of the lens - I'm no lens designer, but it makes intuitive sense to me, at least.

**Just noticed, the gold band says 1:1 - so it's actually a macro?**

Looking good! Still saving money for 15-30 and 70-200.....so this will not affect on me so much but will be great to see also rest of the new lenses. Size of that lens really looks like perfectly made 50/1,4. There are cheaper and smaller versions for ones that don't need that 'extra' performance.
