That fish-eye zoom looks like it could be crazy.

Awww yiss! 85mm 1.4 is going to be righteous and if that ultra-wide prime happens to pan out as an 18 or 20mm D-FA I would be ecstatic!

Yes! Awesome news Hopefully the DFA* 85mm f1.4 will come soonish.

Now I'm curious to know what that long yellow line of "Large Aperture Wide angle lens" would ultimately become. Maybe Ricoh haven't decided which focal length to settle for that lens yet, for far it looks like it will be between 24mm to 41- 42mm. Or maybe Ricoh will make multiple lenses in those focal lengths and they should, 24mm, 28mm, 35mm would be interesting. The yellow colour and "large aperture" seems to indicate it's in the DFA* f1.4 league too.

Let's start guessing about the price in USD of that 85 f1.4.

At B&H 'competitors' go from $259 for the [manual focus] Samyang 85 f1.4 to the [manual focus] Zeiss Otus 85 f1.4 for $4,490.

The AF Sigma is $1,199, and the AF Nikon is $1597. I expect the Pentax lens will be closer to the Nikon price than the Sigma price.

There is also a new, 70-300ish "Telephoto Zoom Lens" on the CP+ 2017 version of the lens road map.

Note that the ultra-wide angle lens has lost its former "Large Aperture" designation and is a D FA whilst the wide angle lens is now a "Large Aperture" lens and a D FA★. This is probably why the wide angle lens, formerly shown as the first to be launched, will now, in all likelihood, be preceded by the D FA★ 50mm f/1.4 and D FA★ 85mm f/1.4.

Pentax needs consumer level full frame telephoto lens but I think that 100-400mm like a new Sigma would be much more appropriate.
300mm doesn't cover consumer telephoto range, 400mm does (for birding, safari and things like that).
With weight of 1kg 100-400mm could be a perfect combo with 28-105.

I think the lens displayed on PF is the DFA*85. Anyway, all those new lenses have a LBA virus inside.
If you have spent all of your 2016 budget in a K1, with all those good lenses coming, you now have a new chance to pre-burn your 2017 budget.

Better put your glasses on then, as the lens CLEARLY is imprinted with 1.4/50. Even on the official Pentax website: Reference Exhibit at CP? 2017?RICOH IMAGING

So, the 85mm f/1.4 will probably be even larger.

I guess Pentax will lands between Sigma and Nikon.

ah ah , :-) yes I have my glasses on, but it was early morning before going to work , and the caffeine of espresso was not yet in action.

For us having the DFA*70-200, the DFA*85 f2.8 is already inside, no need to buy.

As i said earlier, 2017 is the year of the primes..and the future is bright (F-stop bright)

And to add to the never-ending discussion about size..I have never said its wrong if you like the small and compact stuff..Good for you..But these new badboys are needed in so many ways..Not only to meet the marked, but more important, they are made to get the best out of the amazing sensor in K-1 and future cameras So dont waste anymore energy arguing why this isnt needed because we have the good old ones...
