Where's the APS-C roadmap?
Right here. (Hint: no change.)

Been hoping for DA 12-28mm WR. It's only been on the roadmap for five years, so maybe it was an unrealistic expectation that they actually announce it...

I'm sticking with APS-C, and am mostly satisfied with what I have or can potentially obtain.
I'm also very happy with my gear, I wouldn't mind a DA*400mm tho.

Yeah, I know of the actual roadmap... I was making a point that it's basically empty moving forward.

Man, a DA*12-28 would be spectacular!

I wonder if there is a store of DA 12-24's that Pentax is waiting to sell before producing a replacement.

I mentioned a couple days ago that a 400/4 would be pretty neat, although it would be far out of my price range.

I would think that now that will not happen. Anything 300mm or up will be FF capable. So DFA 400mm. Maybe DFA*400?? But that is a long time out and realistically probably never. Closest you will likely get in any reasonable time frame is DA*300 plus TC, so 420mm @ f/5.6. Not too bad.

Yikes. Even Blue.

There will still be new people buying Pentax cameras and lenses this summer and this fall and this Christmas and next year at CP+. Pentax knows the future of the company does not hinge on whether the *50/1.4 ships in May or August or whether the *85/1.4 ships in November or February. The future of the company hinges on the 50 and 85 being strongly competitive with the Best-in-Class, professional lenses available. Then the 135 and 24 or 20 and 35 are equally good. And there are Pentax designed f/4 high consumer zooms like the 28-105, and a 28 - and eventually replacements for the FA35/2 and FA50/ 1.4, which will serve for now.

There are 800,000,000 consumers on the planet out of nearly 8 Billion people. Fuji isn't going to steal a March on Pentax and lock all of them up if we don't have ALL our lenses and cameras by next Tuesday.

Take a deep breath. Exhale. Repeat after me.

Be of good cheer, Pentaxians. Ricoh has a Plan, and you will be happy.

I am not desperate or panicking. I have lenses including an FA77/1.8 ltd. When the 85/1.4 comes out, I will look at it and give it consideration.

50 and 85 (and the other coming ones) will be made with same tech as the 70-200 and its all Pentax made
Are you able to speak of the design process?

I mean specifically I am wondering if maybe the design flow will speed up as they build each lens.. so the 70-200 took a VERY long time to come out, but the design flow is now set so the 50 is a bit quicker to draft, design, and manufacturer.. and from there on it is more a template of sorts.. basically building off of each new D-FA and improving/refining the design process. As a result, perhaps taking less time to go from idea to store shelf?

Or is that not how it works?

Am I the only one left who isn't excited about FF?

Don't get me wrong, these lenses look fantastic!
But their price is going to be hard to justify for APS-C usage...
Well I do see where you are coming from but the APS-C lens lineup is mostly complete. Plus items like the new DFA 85 F 1.4 will be a nice classic 135mm eq. on a crop body. Seriously thinking about this one to cover my prime gap between 55 and 300 currently... When it is released who knows but I am glad to see new sharp glass in general.
