I already said this year will be quiet... but the next will be hard on my wallet.

We are talking about Star Primes or budget ones? The tendency on the market is that R/P is clearing stock in 35/2.4 and 50/1.8 DAs area....

Hrm,...
Speaking for the Cinematographic side of the Art, the 15-30 and 24-70, closely followed by the 70-200, will be very interesting to watch - the constant aperture appeals, if Pentax can improve the AF in video.
Those two WR zooms would cover the majority of needs for music video, interviews, cable shows, short film and quite a deal of shorts for features.
The longer zoom would be great for documentary work.

I want all new Tamron lens on Pentax LOl...

SP 150-600 SP 35 45 85 SP 70-300 SP WHATEVER

Only if Pentax and Tamron are under one roof... then they can be like Sigma, where they produces lens in multiple mount, including their own Sigma mount.

Sigma - SA native mount, but also nikon/canon/sony/m43/etc
Tamron - PK native mount, but also nikon/canon/sony/m43/etc

I think that would be pretty interesting actually. Pentax as the Tamron brand of cameras. I could really use the 70-300 SP right now.. and whatever they have in the pipeline we'd get.

I'd like to see a new, lighter 18-35mm type lens too that accepts threaded filters. The 15-30mm is, by all accounts, a stellar lens optically, but cumbersome and costly to use large, square filters... plus the lens is big and heavy.

In any case, neither of those things are likely.. but it can be fun to dream here and there.

It is surprising to me that Sigma has kept on with their SA based camera system.. I suspect it is more a leisure venture than a serious one for them to produce their own cameras. Their marketing is seemingly the same as Pentax -- zilch.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Tamron lenses as an option, great - but their lenses are soulless - Pentax would lose the one thing that keeps it alive

Should Pentax cancel the D FA* primes for the privilege of selling more expensive Tamrons?

Does Pentax put their own lens coatings, aperture blades? Or is it only the outside body that gets changes?
I agree that Pentax has amazing soul, but lots of people just want fast sharp lenses, soul or not

And what if the D FA* 85mm f/1.4 has all 3 characteristics - fast, sharp, soul?
