Is that one of those sites who posts "news" after "news" regardless if they're true or not?
In any case, the only "true" thing is that some journalists imagined such a Pentax MILC. Ricoh Imaging has another story to tell: "We keep watching the trends in the mirrorless camera market, however there is no specific plan on our roadmap at the moment."

And of course, we discussed this subject to death.

I have difficulty imagining Pentax has the resources needed to maintain the Q line lenses, the K line APSC and FF lenses and the 645 line of lenses let alone another line of lenses for APSC with a shorter registration distance and optimization for sensor based AF (CDAF and PDAF on sensor.

If they bought a company that had this or if they joined M43 and went m43 for their mirrorless and built a K mount adapter that might work. But differentiating in the marketplace would be a tough sell for m43. A multimount that allowed an adapter to use m43 lenses on the Q with full aperture and focus control would frankly be more interesting. This would allow using the Q crop factor on the m43 lenses without losing any functionality. But I'm just dreaming - Pentax would gain little from this unless they also planned entry into the m43 lens market.

No doubt some will believe the very slow emergence of new lenses for the K-1 can be attributed to the need to develop another series of lenses for this mirrorless body…

Tell your K-01 that just because it shares a number and battery with the new big camera is no reason to let it go to it's head - LOL.

I would love a Pentax with an EVF. They don't need to change the registration distance for me.
