It certainly looked a notch above the 1080 I can capture with a Pentax!
Then it's easy, lend them your Pentax camera so that they can record the video for you.

Well the interview I read around the launch date of the K1 STATED, that Ricoh had listened to the Pentax user base!
We should not believe what marketing say... hum.

It is like your eye; you don't pull it out because robotic eye allows you to see 5% of IR spectrum. If one changes the purpose, then the history is deemed a failure, and it cannot be a failure because then our current ideas are failure too. Half the industry killed their past, caught itself in a paradox of existence, so let them live with that.
Kenspo is only one person acting as a brand promoter. His focus on attracting younger people to the brand isn't a problem for him or Ricoh. People like Kerrick James are working more broadly. Having a range of brand ambassadors whose appeal spans generations of users and applications of the system is a good thing.

Ricoh post photos on Facebook....not sure WHO shot them, but they are "deleters"at best....extremely negative comments. The one yesterday was terrible. One comment mentioned how they were disappointed and switching to another brand.

They both shot Pentax, but moved onto tools that can do the job they needed to do....Professionals do that!

Found it.
"Hallgeir Risenfald Calm down please. No one uploaded the picture. Its a link in the post and facebook automaticly select a photo from the link. And if you enter the link you see the picture is fine but tiny. And facebook enlarge it. No big deal"
Is that all? Facebook selecting and enlarging a thumbnail, and some Ricoh employee not paying attention? That's the entire "scandal"?

But then he shouldn't have a problem with history. History is memory, and it contains solutions to all our problems.

It's a simple issue, they need to edit their webpage so that Facebook Open Graph uses a higher resolution image when the page is shared. I bet that some junior social media person queued up a bunch of these without testing them. Doesn't affect the cameras at all but makes them look amateur.

Mirror can stay in place A, or be moved out to place B. It allows the camera to be a DSLR, or a mirrorless.

When I saw it, I just thought Y would such a low resolution pic get posted....OK, facebook compression is what it is,we know the pics are not going to be top notch.

Social media is bigtime, lotsa opinions get formed by people who inform other people....whats the best advertising?....Used to be word of mouth but that probably rivals social media these days.

This wasn't good advertising for Ricoh!

It's not the point. It's the fine line.

I believe that a hybrid viewfinder offers the greatest potential, which accords with what you're saying, I think, at least until EVFs gain better low-light, contrast and long-term viewability, not to mention low energy consumption.

Such an arrangement could extend the life of the K-mount, considerably.

They wanted to do.

Actually, market share comes essentially from the momentum built on a global scale marketing mix, whether Pentax does 4K in its DLSR has so little influence when being supported by other components of the marketing mix.
Regarding the market share of Pentax (relative to other brands), what a Pentax camera doesn't have is what's the most discussed here. It's a very narrow view of how thing are.
If we disregard profitability, it is obvious that if Ricoh would distribute the K1 on a scale of what Sony and Canon are doing; the K1 would outsell outside of the current k mount user base. Of course that would require a lot of inventory buildup , a lot of wasted resources, but the absolute number of Pentax camera unit sold would be much higher. Just by looking around, it's not difficult to figure that Pentax is absent in 80% of the camera distribution channels. Over here, Pentax is present in one shop out of 10. And that's not at all related to video , 4K, whatever goes into a camera.
