a sigh ricoh pentax usa is closing down?

Ever since Ricoh phased out the old Pentax US webstore and Pentax US website the Ricoh Imaging US site has been at best only 3/4 complete. Links would come and go seemingly at random. Take for example the Pentax Advantage Program for the 645Z. A dead link showed up months before the program was officially announced, disappeared, reappeared fully functional except for the registration form. Changed to a dead link. Became fully functional when the program was announced. Then the link to the Silver portion died. Disappeared. Reappeared fully functional. Broke again. Now it appears to have vanished altogether.

The Ricoh Imaging Canada website appears to be in fairly good shape. Here's the English-language front page: Welcome?RICOH IMAGING CANADA

The French-language version also seems to be fully functional.

The site is not intended to be a storefront for sales, but it does have a 'Shop' page to search for dealers. The listing for Ottawa include the three Henry's locations; it seems up to date, as it does not show a fourth Henry's location in Ottawa that closed earlier this year.

Ricoh UK must have spent a large amount of some pool of advertising funds on the Ricoh Women's British Open this weekend. It's shown live on broadcast TV here in the states from Scotland.

Ricoh imaging US seems to be somewhat of a separate entity within the Ricoh Imaging network. European sites just mimic the global Ricoh Imaging website. They also run the PentaxPhotoGallery which is in dire need of some maintenance or an update.

Maybe using an outside fulfillment vendor for direct internet sales (as Ricoh Imaging US has done for many years) precludes simply porting the corporate website the way Canada does.

KEH had problems for months after they upgraded their website and they are still having problems now. Their old website might not have been as snazzy but it worked !

What "Ricoh pentax"? What promisses? We're talking about website issues from another continent (which is not Japan/ the Mothership, but some subsidiary).
That doesn't make my K-1 any bit worse.
