Let's be fair.
The rumor (?) about both the D FA* 50mm and 85mm being launched in Q1 is not exactly surprising. We are expecting those lenses, and the D FA* 50mm was scheduled for Q1... if they manage to get the 85 ready, why not? It's plausible.
You could also see that it was mostly ignored.

By the way, asahiman and Kenspo were not attacked by the "positive" people

P.S. I do believe the reaction was exaggerated.

Its a great looking camera and I don't think it is over priced at all. If I was buying a K-1 I would definitely get this one. Are limited camera releases often followed by updated models within a year or so?

I agree. I always get a grip with my camera, even if I don't use it all of the time and when you consider the cost of the extra grip and extra Pentax brand battery, it really isn't much extra compared to the black version and it really does stand out (in a good way).

I'm just too OCD about my lenses matching the body. If Ricoh is going to release silver versions of all of their D-FA* glass then I might consider buying a silver body. I think the Prestige version is the best looking alternate body Ricoh has made, but again without glass to match I'm not that interested.

That lens cap looks out of place. If you're going to do gaudy, you've got to go the whole hog.

Perhaps cover it with something round off a gator? Pentax's attempt to impress in this particular fashion suggests only one person in the room got to vote. His punishment should be to use it for street photography in Central Park, at night.

I don't think the gunmetal gray of the prestige body looks bad with the black lenses. As you say there is enough black on the rest of the body to work with the black lenses. I don't care for it with the silver lenses. I would want to have matching lenses. Hopefully we will get new Limited lenses in silver or gunmetal gray.
