I also fail to see the reasoning behind statements like that. I mean based on that thinking imagine what the price of a K-1 will be when the next FF body is released? People will practically be giving them away! Some folks just gotta stir the pot I suppose.

Alternatively, there may have been a large number of black K-1 bodies that had some paint defect on them which the factory couldn't easily correct. So rather than trash those bodies as QC fails, they figured that a coat of metallic silver paint would totally disguise the original paint defect, and freshen the rejected items up nicely.
