Red goes faster... That's the truth everybody knows. To be honest- that silver tone, makes it look kinda cheap. "Brushed" silver/steel or gunmetal would be much better.

Yuh - I'm a bit so-so on this one - love the KP in silver, not so sure about the K-1 - somehow diminishes it's image as a serious tool - but I hope it sells out quickly to encourage Ricoh - as rawr said a few pages back, the most exciting thing is evidence that there is something new coming out with a Pentax badge on it.

I have a silver K3. very nice & other people comment it a lot, but i wouldn't want it that way in case i'd buy a K1.
The silver is prone to scratches & wear, more easily than a black version..
Mind you, i do use my equipment..

I know (hope!) you're only joking, but collectors editions don't make so much sense with the built-in obsolescence of electronic cameras as they did when the LX ruled the Pentax pack - in the hands of the right photographer an LX can still take as good a picture as any 35mm film camera (for images not relying on fast AF, or blazing shutter speeds or rapid film transport, anyway) - but a digital camera will become obsolete as its sensor becomes obsolete.

That lens cap looks out of place. If you're going to do gaudy, you've got to go the whole hog.

Excellent! Now, slip us a couple shots of this mythical thing of beauty, and no blurry ones like the sasquatch photos, and I'll have Clackers buy you a beer. 😃
Thanks for the beer, but that only was oral communication.
I have no more info at the moment, but I am too far from my sources, let us come back from leave.

My grey K3 is showing a bit of wear and tear as well. Especially in the cracks along the join between the soft grip material and the body material. Skin cells, grime and sweat collects there and then a little bit of corrosion starts up Just doesn't show the wear as badly as the Silver does when the black undercoating shows through. also around the head of the screw just forward of the remote control socket door on the right hand side.

Usage in a tropical climate does that to stuff. Shutter actuations would be in the 50K - 60K area now,

The lettering is in gold, and the colour seems to be a dark brown, so it can't be that much out of place.

Enough to look embarrassed, I'd say. A bit like turning up in a 3-piece suit at a beach party.

I think it will sell pretty fast. Japanese is crazy about something for collection. I hardly find any second-hand K-3 with gunmetal or silver version.

No further need, she went a few weeks ago for a conference or something, while I was thinking about buying a silver FA43. Her personal trainer Rafael went along, so her routine wouldn't be disrupted. That was good of him to do that.
