Let's do it this way: which of the Ricoh Imaging patents are, or might be for "machine vision and industrial applications"? Just to make sure we're discussing about the same things.
I've only briefly read (or, tried to) some of the most recent patents and they were related to consumer cameras, some about DSLR cameras, some to the SR or lens barrels/PLM drive.

This is quite reassuring - people in the past have often posted new patents on these forums but not so much recently and I'd been concerned that this was another worrying indicator of reduced activity

The "not so much recently" might be related to a certain japanese blog - http://egami.blog.so-net.ne.jp/ - being taken offline.
Patents discussed in Photorumors and other places were taken from there.

I don't think anyone is denying that Ricoh has machine vision and industrial products, but they are not what the entity "Ricoh Imaging" does. When I looked at the patents under Ricoh Imaging (as opposed to Ricoh), my impression was like Kunzite - that they are mainly for cameras to be sold to consumers. So my conclusion is they are still working hard researching technologies for Pentax, GR, Theta, etc.

Jeff, I'll ask again: which of the patents are related to machine vision and industrial applications?
Let's take the first 15 (most recently published actually), the first page. Please note that I've only skimped through them; but I can link the following to digital cameras and even SLRs/Pentax:
1. JP-A- 2017-187785 - a zoom lens, examples given being ~80-150mm f/4.5 FF (if I'm not mistaken)
2. JP-A- 2017-188804 - something sensor related, about dark current noise suppression and reducing lag. To quote from the patent itself: "In the following, a digital single lens reflex camera will be described as an embodiment of the present invention."
3. JP-A- 2017-181699 - PLM lens barrel
4. JP-A- 2017-181717 - 5 axis SR
5. JP-A- 2017-183998 - compensating for defective pixels - digital cameras are referred to in the patent
6. JP-A- 2017-184600 - also SR?
7. JP-A- 2017-173801 - SR
8. JP-A- 2017-173802 - image tilt? SLR cameras are referred to in the patent
9. JP-A- 2017-161756 - optical (reflex) viewfinders
10. JP-A- 2017-161816 - camera on tripod

Others were too generic (anti-fogging lens coating, improved autofocus) or too hard to figure them out, but I didn't find any instance striking me as a "machine vision and industrial applications".

No problem. I barely can understand anything from them.
I'm a bit disappointed, though... having machine vision and industrial apps patents under Ricoh Imaging would've been interesting; but, RI is for consumer products.

What Im trying to understand is that in effect Ricoh's industrial development is marketed by Ricoh Imaging,Inc and it even includes the Pentax brand on its industrial and machine lenses..but you wont find it on Ricoh Imaging website, although its there..

This is a Pair technology, patented during the Hoya to Ricoh transition

Sure but Hoya didnt care about the image business, unless Pair is useful for endoscope Imaging? (Lol, imagine that.... athmospheric interferences )

Sorry, I wasn't clear.
Pentax Imaging Systems was what Ricoh bought from Hoya; and it included stuff other than consumer cameras (e.g. security products).
The consumer products part was included in Pentax Ricoh Imaging (later renamed to Ricoh Imaging). Other parts were transferred to other Ricoh sectors.

Sounds like a Pentax 645 lens to me...
