Who knows... It's not that long ago that most nude photographers were using Spotmatics, it can happen again

I'll be there on September 23st. Of course, as I'm only a 2 hour drive away from Cologne. I wanted to collect as much information as possible, without having to wait for for instance Dpreview to come up with the news.
Would be awfully nice if you would offer the rest of us your personal reportage once you been there... I don't mean so much the news as your personal impressions. I want to go there, but it won't happen this year: too much work.

Hi Ben! Its fun to speculate.

I have very little to go on though so you may be right yet, but I reckon the 1000D is their first preoccupation followed by the 50D and D300. D300 is a big seller. Just my reading of the market.

The one thing I do know for certain is that Sigma will be releasing a date for the 150mm f2.8 macro lens in Pentax mount at the show.
I have been waiting ages for this lens.
Interesting. Thanks for posting something relevant to the questions asked.

Thank you
Russell

It will be interesting to see how the price it in relation to the 105mm and the 180mm. The 150mm is still pretty heavy but at least it is f2.8 vs f3.5 in regards to the 180mm.

Edit: Perhaps Sigma will announce the APO 200-500mm F2.8/400-1000mm EX DG in Pentax mount. Sigma - Lenses

tamron 70-200 announce 12-18 months later still not here
pentax 60-250 announced 12+ months later still not here

dont want to rain on your parade and hopefully I'll be wrong in this case, i've got to the point were announcements mean little...

I know we have a Foveon insider here on the forum who will be at Photokina. Maybe we can convince him to give us a hint at what Sigma's got up it's sleeve as far as bodies go?

Great news!

Other lens I wish they would release in Pentax mount with HSM is 120-300/2.8

Indeed but the 150mm has already been announced a long time ago, according to Sigma UK who I have been annoying constantly Sigma Japan will release an actual date.
Anyway, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed but I hope hes correct because a 150mm f2.8 with a 1.4x Sigma converter is more appealing to me than the 180mm macro (and around the same price hopefully).

If a lot of them go, I'm afraid Pentax goes too

I hope you won't be there shooting in the nude! Not only will it be rather cold, you would probably get arrested!

The news will be published before Photokina, that's for sure!
