Some of your words make sense, but that doesn't mean they are true or relevant. As I converse with users at other discussion sites, I discover that there is a reluctance to consider the K-1 because of its relative lack of modern lenses. If Pentax intends to continue to sell the K-1 to those who are not currently Pentax owners, then more DFA * lenses would make sense - but since I don't work for the company, nor do I play a Pentax executive on TV, nor have I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express recently, I think I'll just pop some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show between today and CP+.

I'm curious how rectilinear this will be, I bet it this lens plus the sensor on a KP or K-70 will provide amazing results.

Thank you to those who heeded my earlier request to stop the arguments.

I'm now editing or deleting any posts that go against that polite request. Thread bans and, lastly, thread closure are my next available actions. I'd really prefer not to go there...

Thanks again

I am thinking I agree. I am starting to save for this one, I think it will be a gem on my KP. I for one am glad to see Pentax is not completely giving up on crop line-up. It is good to see they still are committed to bringing out new / fresh pieces of glass.

Pentax will likely never abandon APS-C, for what it's worth. Their main strategy to compete with mirrorless is to provide compact crop DSLRs.

The specs have not been released, but based on the product photos my guess would be 77 or 82mm.

Yeah, I agree. A wider barrel diameter would also help prevent vignetting from the filter.

Here it is superimposed on the D FA* 50 which we know is 72mm. So it is definitely not 77mm. At least 82.
