It's pretty sad how people really have the idea if a particular piece of gear doesn't fit their personal needs then it is a useless item that probably shouldn't be on the market. I just see this lens's launch as a positive, saying that Ricoh is still interested in releasing high quality lenses for APS-C. And if people think it is too big, there will still be the DA 15, DA 14, and DA 12-24 on the market that hopefully will meet their needs (along with lenses from Samyang and Irix).
I won't get it because I own the DA 15 (which I like a lot) and the DFA 15-30, but I am still pleased that this lens is coming out and look forward to the images that folks who buy it post here. Because that's actually the main point of a lens (I think) -- to create high quality images, not just to stir discussion on the internet.
