Leaks before an event like Photokina are no fun. Why do kids always have to peak at their presents before christmas? You guys keep shaking the box and trying to guess what's inside and you'll break any expectations or surprises the box may contain.

Just be patient, it's much more interesting that way. Go make some photos with what you already have. I know it's been said before, but I think a lot of you should take it more seriously. A camera is a tool. We use it to make images. If you are more interested in the numbers attributed to your tools, when will you find time to make images?

Belgian ? It keeps moving from hard rain to gentle rain to 5 minutes sunshine and then hard rain again. Typical Belgian weather as I said.

We cannot predict the future, but we can look into the past. D700 debuted in Japan on July 25th (many stores started selling it on July 24) quite impressively, and achieved 11.6% market share for the first 3 days of sales; climbing to #3 in the sales chart in Japan. Then there was the expected steep decline after the initial peak. And now, in just over 5 weeks (as of last week), the sales has dropped and leveled off at around 1.5% level. Its sales could drop even more with the release of 5D successor and Sony FF offering.

If this is the sales level that Nikon is seeing, and with Pentax sales traditionally at 1/5 that of Nikon, how many Pentax FF will be sold?

At least we should get another low-end from Pentax pretty soon now...
Gordon characterizes the K200D, Pentax's entry-level camera, pretty well Pentax K200D review Cameralabs video review
I hope Pentax, samsung, doesn't matter will have the same approach regading camera bodies (tough construction, wather-selaed bodies, good big and bright viewfinders, top LCD's, etc. - shortly put, thinks that help the SERIOUS amateur photographer because that's why I choosed Pentax and not CaNikon).

It would be a major coup (at least from my perspective) if Pentax can introduce a D60/A200/E420/1000D competitor with weather sealing and still price it similar to the competing products.

If they do, publications would be sure to give them props.

The buying public, though, would look at live view, I feel.

Isn't that what the K200D is?

In most markets, no, it just can't compete on price.

If Samsung will stay with GX200 after Photokina, we won't see Pentax K200D very soon.

Hmmm..accordong to Amazon.com and Photoprice.ca the K200D is priced better than the Canon and Nikon models in the same range. It's at the same price as the D60 and cheaper than the XSi (by $200).

And the Pentax has weather sealing.

This must be a European issue.

Nearly 0 I guess, unless they release some FF lens to go with it.
