So, for reference, in 2006, Photokina started on Tuesday, September 26th. Pentax made their pre-show announcements (for the K10D and the DA 70mm Limited) two weeks earlier, on the 13th. Then on the 21st, the planned DA★ lenses were announced. Oh, plus a handful of compacts in August and along with the K10D.
Before PMA last year, starting March 8th 2007, some compacts and more about the DA★ lenses on February 21st (and more details about the lenses on Feb 25th).
This year, they were a little tighter: PMA started January 31st, and it was only on the 23rd that we got the K20D, K200D, new lens roadmap, and again the P&S refresh. But still, there were rumors that turned out to be be pretty good (and especially, the GX20 two weeks previously.)
So, with Photokina coming this Tuesday and no real news from anywhere, Pentax
is being particularly tight-lipped this year, at least compared to the past couple of years. I'm not attaching any meaning to that (it could mean so many different things), but there it is.
