The Nikon Df supports any and all Nikon F lens ever produced since 1959 with no limitation whatsoever. Other modern Nikon cameras support all Nikon F lenses produced since 1977 (the so-called Ai lenses) with no limitation.

By comparison, the current Pentax cameras support all lenses produced since 1975 with limitations (stop-down metering) for those produced before 1984 (before the A lenses).

No, that wasnt my claim. My claim twas that few of its (mostly beginner) DSLR bodies dont have full support. And that is just ok cause it makes the bodies lighter and cheaper. The rest of Nikon lineup does have full support for legacy lenses.
You should stop making false claims or missinterpreting other peoples posts.

They support even the older lenses if you are willing to do some little diy.
Nikon offered official conversion services for those older lenses but demand dropped so they dont offer it no more.

I think I was spot on accurate---just admit that Nikon doesn't support all of its camera bodies with legacy lenses--that's all I said--you made it qualitative low-end bodies aren't supported so those low-end Nikon users are ignored by the company? Ok, they're still not compatible, so relax....and let me tell you something, Pentax so called low end (K-20, 30, 50, etc....) all are compatible with legacy lenses. It's ok--your not a site supporter and you average about 20 to 30 posts a year (probably to support Nikon your apparent brand of choice)..Look: .Nikon makes great cameras, and I still own a few (Nikkormat ELW, Nikon F and a Nikon 6006--the latter is a heavy plastic paperweight) but I prefer Pentax for my reasons--as a inquiry do you "trickorTreat" own a Pentax? Because if you don't why are you here?

So an uncrippeled K-mount camera would be the perfect anniversary present. 24 megapixel. To bad the Df wasn't a sales succes.....and so would be the K-mount counterpart.

Yeh... not much Nikon users cherish their brands legacy...
Pentax users are the ones that would like that kind of camera. K1000SE digital! Manual focusing action! Split screen focusing screen! Would be perfect for 100y anniversary

I think it would have been 8 - 10 years ago, but not in 2019.

Nope not on your life. Some might want that, I want state of the art, Pentax style. Great IQ, excellent High Iso performance, superb ergonomics and a dash of improved AF along with the current K-3II frames per second or better.

The vast majority of today's photographers expect good autofocus. Manual focus is a niche. Pentax they can't design whole new cameras to cater to a niche of their already small niche. How many hundred of these do you think they'd sell?

Leica might be able to do it because they can make $3000 profit on a camera body.
