This non-article aside, they are taking their time with a K-3ii successor. Which is good news. Hopefully this means they are working hard on getting it right.
I hope it's a major leap forward compared to the K-5II/IIs to K-3/3II leap. I've been patiently waiting since summer of 2016 for it. I really hope that they release it before November 2018 or thay at least Ricoh gives us some kind of confirmation that they are actually working on it.

I'm sure the PF staff will inquire about it, at the CP+ interview.
In February, Ricoh was "researching" it. Let's see what they have to say, one year later.

The article is garbage: wishes based on speculation about a rumour.

I don't really care what Ricoh calls the new APS-C flagship, as long as it's NOT K-3 III. I has to be a ground-up re-build, not a superficial refresh.

Maybe K32?

What's wrong with the even numbers?
Time to break out 2,4,6&8?

While I understand the K1 being the top of the line, it leaves them nowhere to go for the next iteration
When the K7 first came out, after the K10 & K20, it was baffling, they really seem to have dug themselves a hole now.

More than likely 4 won't be used anytime soon. It's a Japanese thing.

Haha yees, lets use powers and squares! Throw in some complex and imaginary numbers! Will go well with the tradition of *ist type names

It is high time we get some serious rumors about this APSC body. We are waiting for now 18 months this is getting ridiculous...

I would advise going back and looking at the previous k-3 replacement threads... None yet have been remotely accurate.

Pentaxians already have a reputation of being a bit square, let's not give the knockers an opportunity to say we're rooted as well.

The K-π would be a cool compliment to the KP

....and I guess the K-i likewise for the K-1

Sorry to disappoint here, but I think K3III is unlikely to happen or that will be at a loss. DSLR market shrinking, most people using mobile phone means no viable selling quantities for Pentax. Most likely senario is Canikon & Co. to downsize drastically to stay profitable with much less selling quantities, and Ricoh to divest its DSLR business, we already see it this year with no new DSLR product.

Ignoring all the Hoya misuse of historical cues -
  1. On FF, replace K with L . . .
  2. Replace numbers with letters
  3. Start with X
  4. On APSc replace K with M . . .
  5. Replace numbers with letters
  6. Start with X
D LX, 2, 3 . . . (fewer features, inferior sensor) - 20, 30
D MX, 2, 3 . . . (12-bit RAW, 30-50-70 control set) - 20, 30
