is there a better APS - C than the K 3 or K 3 II

at their price point

if not

how has Pentax abandoned high end APS-C

so long as you can get a K 3 or K 3 II

Guys, Ricoh Imaging cannot do everything at the same time nor can they spend as much on R&D (and marketing) as their competitors. By far.

As far as cameras and lenses are concerned, Canon are thirty-five times bigger than Ricoh Imaging. Indeed, in 2017, the sales of Ricoh's Smart Vision division amounted to ca. ¥20bn whilst those of Canon's camera (and lens) activity amounted to ¥703bn.

Ricoh Imaging have to find other ways than massive R&D (and marketing) spendings to stay alive and afloat.

Besides, judging by the regular roll-out of new versions of Ricoh Theta firmware and apps (more than three per month, see News | RICOH THETA), whatever R&D money is available goes primarily to the fast-growing VR / AR / 360° video markets.

By discontinuing the K-3 II If they don't introduce a successor soon.

Yeah, they are bringing out that high-end lens to keep users of their discontinued cameras happy...

There's a new model coming out...btw, I LOVE the looks of both the K1 and the KP, with the macho '67' kind of look to them.

Pentax has some VERY NICE STUFF OUT now. If they could only find a good marketing executive so it could translate into sales...

Hey, I converted a buyer this week...he was going to go Canon 6 something for his astrophotography, and he is now the proud owner of a K1 and a 24-70. I sent him an article on Astrophotography, where it said the Pentax stuff were the best cameras in the world for astrophotography.

Pentax, please send the commission cheque to....

Cheers,
Cameron

Well, that might settle the question. Was the big show going to be a rollout of a new APS-C or a new K1 upgrade. It almost looks like both! Am I too optimistic?
BIG show would be 645C.

So sayeth Sergeant Schultz

Let me just add that I’m exhausted. I don’t care any more.

Someone credible please explain to me why Ricoh have announced two premium lenses and have roadmapped a third and openly said KP and K-3ll would run parallel for some time if they’re running off the Brand. OTOH I don’t really understand the benefit of Imaging to Ricoh Parentco for Y20B.

I am expecting the K-1 A for APSC, normal in APSC we move from K-7 , K-5 , K-3 now K-1A . This could be it's not the K-1 Mark II but a new APSC. . I hope so

Not all that surprising... Will be interesting to see when the K3II replacement comes for crop... We might see something at CP but have a feeling it will be a while before actually release it. They teased the K1 how long? But I do think we will see something, if I was into FF the K1II sounds pretty cool too.

yes, maybe the new rumour is not actually a 35mm K-1 but a new APS-C K-3II successor
