I really haven’t scratched the surface of either current camera. I really want K-mount to thrive, though it can continue to be ‘different’, like Subaru.

Yes, I read that someone here at PF read that somewhere and that it is going to be Z-mount mirrorless with optional hybrid viewfinder and eight-axis IBIS when used with a new DA Z* 16-150/2.8. (Also rumored is a new prime with real-time perspective control.)

Yeah, I think there's too much discrimination against them, Steve.

Just the other day I saw a sign on a store wall saying 'No Czechs Accepted'. Or something like that.

As a Pentax and Subaru fan/owner, I too have seen them as being kind of similar in their own ways. In the US at least, having a S60 Nokia phone kind of completed the trifecta as most everybody else had an iPhone or Android device... that diminished a bit when they were bought by Microsoft and ran WindowsPhone OS.

As one of the Czechs on this forum I have to admit that this thread page is potentially the funniest I've ever read on any forum. Despite discussing demise of one of the greatest cameras ever.
