I've had a run of broken lottery tickets. I'm thinking of switching suppliers... One non-winner I can live with... even two or three, OK... but this has been going on for *months*

I agree. Every week I plunk down my money and all I ever get is what they sold me not what my unrealistic expectations hoped for. I think I might have to move to a different brand.

Reading those alarming articles on how much you need to live in retirement, I now pretty much *have* to win a lottery, I believe.

Might be easier if I just get it over and done with by heading to a casino this weekend, and putting my life savings on 'Black' at the table.

I might not be here Monday, fellars ...don't know whether the state of Victoria has a debtors' prison, but I'm about to find out!

That has been my retirement plan for some time. But so far it is not working out. And the clock is ticking. I really might have to try something else.

And yet, has photography ever been cheaper?

For me, it's not a problem at all. I finance all my gear by not smoking. If I spend $200 on a lens that's less than I save by not smoking 20 cigarettes a day for three weeks. The lens costs $300? No problem! Then I'll just not smoke 30 cigarettes a day!

The K-1 made me not smoke 60 a day for three months, and I'm all the healthier for it

If I don't smoke 1,000 cigarettes a day, can I afford a 645z kit?

if you add some hard drugs to the list of stuff you don't do, you'll save up for it even faster

Let's not get unrealistic here! Nobody smokes 1,000 a day

But I think 60 a day for a year would get you a nice kit. At least around here a pack of 20 costs about $15. $15 x 3 x 365 = $16,425

Have you clicked the Buy button yet??

That would be breaking the law. Umm, sort of

No, I'll let tobacco finance my GAS

I've never smoked but $5 a day at Starbucks @ 5 days a week times 50 weeks a year gives me $1,250 towards a new lens....................

I don't smoke.
What's best, I can not smoke any arbitrarily large amount of cigarettes.

Neither have I... But sure, saving real money works, too! It might even work better...

You got it. There are rules to not smoking

But more seriously, this way of thinking does help me put things into perspective, to justify spending money on the things that matter to me (provided I actually have the money - or I need to save up first).

I propose a small change in the rules for the marketplace,
you have to post the prices in cigarette's packs, pints of beer, etc.
