When I quit smoking years ago I actually used an app that tracked how much I was not spending. The app had the ability to add items to your wish list and as you saved money by not smoking the app told you to go and buy things off of that list as your reward. For me it was really very effective.

That's absolutely true ... I've got various buddies who are into restoring cars, or own boats, or have a share in a racehorse.

They can be black holes as far as money's concerned, sucking in all currency within a thousand mile radius.

I can concur. Vintage cars suck in money almost as fast as a boat.

But you forgot cycling Clackers!

Reading those alarming articles on how much you need to live in retirement, I now pretty much *have* to win a lottery, I believe.
Dont be misled by propoganda, your superannuation is an insurance policy against financial failure. As long as its maintained at a reasonable level, you are safe.

Well, you know I do that as well, Mark ... I have a commuter, MTB, roadie and gravel grinder.

Yes, these are self-inflicted wounds as my wife reminds me!

The resale value of teenagers is somewhat offset by their pantry emptying capability.

So true! Now that mine are out and supporting themselves, I can afford to shop for most of my food at the local farmer's market. Goat chops and local cheeses, yum!!!

I keep telling my wife she needs a new bicycle but she's not listening to me.

Incredible that an anonymous post creator gets an 21 pages Thread within three weeks
I'd expect him to be from japan, but some uncleared data reveals he's from europe.

I think Asahimans info comes from internally but quite early on and is subject to change like anything is.

And yes classic cars are expensive but you gotta have something to take photo's of, right?

AFAIK, asahi man works at a big camera shop in Berlin. So he most likely has more information of coming products and releases than us customers, but no real inside information. That could explain why sometimes his posts contain actual new information, while at other times the information turns out not quite accurate.
